What is the Community Marketplace?
From time to time, people offer us all kinds of things which they no longer need or want. These may be tools or toys or furniture or appliances or bikes or anything which is cluttering up the house or garage, and is too good to dump. A major part of our aim is to reduce the quantity of “stuff” that we are asking our long-suffering planet to produce, so if “stuff” can be passed from someone who doesn’t have a use for it to someone who does, then that is a win. If the person who no longer needs it receives some money, and the person who now wants to use it gets the stuff more cheaply, then that is a win-win. If an organisation like ShareHavant can retain a small part of that price and use it to expand the whole thing, that’s a win-win-win!

Why not just sell it?

Many people do that using Ebay or similar, but others prefer not to, or don’t like the idea of having strangers coming to their home. Sometimes, the stuff needs a bit of repair or some TLC before it can be sold and people don’t want to get involved with all that.
But we can look after that side of it, and maybe that is all that’s needed to get the stuff back in use.
Do you have something you would like to get rid of?
So if you have stuff you would like to get rid of, or want us to sell on your behalf, please get in touch. Either come to our shop at The Old Parcels Office, or email to us, or phone us on 07??? ??????.
How does the pricing work?
This is not like an on-line auction. We set the prices by agreement with the owner and after that, they are fixed. We won’t negotiate on them, and they won’t be increased if several people are interested.
