• Havant Library of Things

Why buy when you can borrow?

So many of the items that we all buy we end up using for only a short amount of time. Then we have to find somewhere to keep them until next time we need them – if “next time” ever actually happens.

So what if we all just borrowed these items as and when we needed them? Wouldn’t that make a lot more sense?

So why not use the Library of Things?

    • Saves you money and time
    • Cuts down on stuff you have to find a place to store at home
    • Enables you to “try before you buy”
    • Makes better use of the stuff already in the world
    • Supports the local community
    • Helps reduce consumption

We’ve got loads of different things, from stuff for entertaining, tools to help your DIY, garden equipment, toys, cooking and even health. So please take a look and see what we can offer.

We are based in the Old Parcels Office at Havant Station

We don’t want cost to be a barrier to borrowing from the Library of Things so we have a suggested donation policy. This is the price associated with each item in the catalogue and is the cost of borrowing it for a week. It is based on how much the item costs to buy new and helps us with running costs including insurance, software and premises costs.

If this price is not right for you – for example because you are only using the item briefly or because you cannot afford the full cost please pay a donation that works for you. We also aim to offer certain items free of charge from time to time.

We also welcome donations in excess of the suggested borrowing fee.
