When and where?

We are open from 10.00am until 1.00pm on the first Saturday of each month (except January), but ask you to arrive by 12.30 so we have got time to deal with your item.
The Repair Cafe operates in The Pallant Centre in the centre of Havant. We do bike repairs during the winter at The Old Parcels Office at Havant railway station, but in the summer (from April to September) they are also done at the Pallant Centre.
How ?

You don’t need to book, just turn up with whatever you have that needs repairing and our triage team will take some details of what you have brought and pass you over to the most appropriate repairer for the task.
And while you wait, have a coffee and a slice of cake, or wander around and watch the other repairs that are going on

Why repair?
There are many reasons to repair something rather than throw it away, so somebody may want something repaired for a completely different reason from the next person through. If the item is quite old it may have sentimental value, or it could be that it is well made and apart from one thing it is likely to be better than a new item.
In some cases the reason may be financial, it is either too expensive to buy a replacement, or there is just something better to spend the money on if it can be fixed at a reasonable cost or for free.
Then there are the environmental reasons. Repairing things saves more rubbish heading to landfill and reduces the need for more resources to be used to make new things. Even recycling uses around three quarters of the amount of energy that is needed to manufacture from new, so repairing really does help.
Whatever your reason for wanting something repaired, we are here to help.
