Become a member

It costs nothing to become a member of Havant Library of Things.

Fill out our online membership form, agree to our terms and conditions and choose from our membership types. You can then reserve items from our Library of Things!

Start borrowing

Once you have signed up as a member it is straightforward to reserve an item. Sign in to the catalogue, find the item you want to borrow and choose the date you want to reserve it. Then pop in during our opening hours and pick up your item!

Breakages or mishaps

We all understand that sometimes things may get broken in use and that can apply to something you have borrowed from us. If it does, that’s not a great disaster. We are not going to throw a wobbly and demand that you replace it (unless you’ve been really careless!), but we do ask that you come clean and let us know. ShareHavant also runs the Repair Cafe, so we can probably fix most things which get broken. If we know about it, we can deal with it before the next person borrows it, but it’s very unfair to say nothing and let the next person find out the hard way!

What are you hoping to borrow?

We are quite limited in our available storage space which does restrict how many items we can keep in the library. However, we do wnat to keep whatever it is that you want to borrow, so is there anything in particular you wish we had? Please let us know and we’ll see what we can do. Pop in when we are open or email us.

Donate an item

We are keen to add items to our catalogue that we know will be useful to the local community. To start with we are focussing on items that are proving popular with other libraries of things.

Many of our items have been donated. We are looking for the following items for our Library of Things and welcome good quality, clean donations of items that have all their parts intact and instruction manuals wherever possible.

Because of our limited storage space, we do have to be selective as to what we accept, and it is always on the basis that we are free to deal with it as we think fit. So we may put it into the Library of Things, we might offer it for long-term loan elsewhere, we might use it ourselves in the Repair Cafe or if it proves not to be popular, we may decide to sell it.

Volunteer your time

Without our volunteers Havant Library of Things would not exist! We are looking for people with a whole range of skills to help run the library and do lots of useful things in between, including promoting and developing the LoT. For more details, go to the Volunteer page.
